There’re two kinds of checking accounts in our union: Regular Checking and Convenience Checking. With the same dividend rate as a regular savings account, a Regular Checking Account requires a minimum daily balance of $1,000 .
Convenience Checking Accounts are designed for those not qualified for a regular one and those expecting an extra account. This account can via automatic transfers be applied in transactions like tuitions, club dues, mortgage payments, and other similar deductions.
Many Share(Savings)Accounts are available here, including Regular Shares, IRA Shares, Money Fund Shares, Preferred Shares, Vacation Clubs, Christmas Clubs, etc.. The reason why savings are addressed as shares is that you’re owners of the union, just like share holders of a company.
NCCDE FCU, started in 1966, has now over 2,600 members and around $14 million in assets. Membership is limited to employees and pensioners of the Credit Union, New Castle County, Libraries within the County, New Castle County Conservation District.
