Abilene Telco Federal Union is now known as Abilene Teachers Federal Credit Union. Anyone can apply for a checking account as long as you live or work in the area. They DO USE Chex System, however as long as what is reported is a year old then you will qualify for their second chance banking known as ‘a restart checking’ account. There is a $5 monthly fee and restrictions on the debit card (can only be used with a PIN number).

  4. Miranda says:

Compass Bank does not use ChexSystem but they do use TelCheck and will pull your credit. If you don’t have any credit or minimum credit reported, you will get DENIED for a free checking account. They do offer second chance banking but the fee is $13.95 month! If I recall correctly, you will have to pay an additional $10 to get a visa debit card for your second chance banking acct.

  5. Gregory says:

Bank of Texas does use Chexsystems

    “Compass Bank”:
There is no charge for the initial issuance of the Visa debit card. There is only a $10 fee if you elect to get a personalized card. :) & if you keep up with your account for 6-12 months, you can have your 2nd chance account converted to a regular checking account. I got my mine switched after 6 months!
